History

The Hartford Society of Financial Analysts,Inc. (Hartford CFA Society) is a non-profit organization that serves the financial community of Greater Hartford and Springfield area. Hartford CFA Society was incorporated in 1952 and is affiliated with the CFA Institute. It strives to have the highest ethical and investment standards. Hartford CFA Society currently has a membership of over 625 members working in over 175 investment organizations.

Hartford CFA Society's mission is to serve its members by:

Providing a forum for exchanging ideas and meeting other investment professionals.

Providing a local forum to maintain and develop the current body of investment knowledge.

Promoting the highest ethical standards and professional conduct by its members.

Hartford Society of Financial Analysts ("Hartford CFA Society") provides a professional forum to educate and inform participants in the investment decision-making process, promotes professional behavior and high ethical standards, and enhances the professional knowledge of our membership and general knowledge of economics and finance in the larger community.

In partnership with the CFA Institute, Hartford CFA Society conducts high quality programs and disseminates information and ideas relating to investments:

Presentations made by the management of major corporations to Hartford CFA Society members and their guests.

Placement listings and publications are available through Hartford CFA Society and CFA Institute.

Topical programs, accounting and economic seminars, The Foundations of Investments Courses and continuing education courses, conferences and other relevant meetings are also held. Over 60 local events are held per year.

Active committees offer involvement and services of value.

The CFA Institute is an international organization of investment professionals serving over 68,000 members, including research analysts, investment counselors, strategists, portfolio managers, consultants, and others allied to the field of financial analysis. These professionals practice in a variety of fields allied to financial analysis including: investment counseling and management, banking, insurance, investment banking and securities brokerage.
