Event Description:
Actuaries, accountants, financial sales and analysts are high growth jobs within Connecticut's insurance and financial services industry with job growth projected at 8% through 2012. The presentation will focus on the activities of the IFS Cluster, and other stakeholders such as DECD, in their efforts to protect and grow these jobs in our State through technology resources and a $2.7M U.S. DOL grant.

Other Information:
As Executive Director of the Connecticut Insurance and Financial Services Cluster, Susan represents the workforce and business interests of 30 major insurance and financial services companies in the state and serves as a force in fostering and advancing the IFS industry. Previously Susan worked as Facilities Strategy Manager at The Hartford Financial Services Group where she assisted the site expansion and consolidation activities of their US real estate portfolio of 6 million square feet. More specifically, Susan negotiated economic development incentives on behalf of The Hartford and evaluated demographic criteria used in making site selection decisions. Prior to The Hartford, Susan worked as Director of Real Estate at the Connecticut Economic Resource Center [CERC] where she led all real estate activities on behalf of CERC s business development efforts. Susan received her B.A. from CCSU, and has a Business Masters Certificate from UCONN s School of Business.
